Hi everybody! This is an announcement that the next Beginning Fencing Class will start Monday, Oct. 26, 7:30-8:00 pm at the Moseley Sports Center (4400 University Dr., Alaska Pacific University). The class will consist of ten 1/2 hour lessons, meeting 7:30-8pm, Mondays and Thursdays. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of Foil Fencing, leading to open bouts by the 10th lesson.
Interested parties will need to purchase an “Access Membership”($34 yr) from USA Fencing (at www.usafencing.org). Additionally participants will need to fill out a club membership form, available at www.anchoragefencingclub.org, and also at the club when you come in person. The fee, per lesson is $20 (10 session punchcards are available for $180). Equipment for the class will be provided by the club, but it is strongly encouraged that participants are dressed in appropriate exercise clothes (sweatpants, t-shirts). Additionally it is absolutley necessary that participants (and also any parents/spectators) bring and wear INDOOR ONLY gym shoes, when in the gym (there is a lobby area to switch out).
